IEEE/CIS TC on Standards

IEEE CIS Standards Committee supports the important mission of proliferating computational intelligence technologies in a wide range of research, education, and application areas by facilitating critical standard interaction between various general purpose intelligent technologies and specific application areas. The Standards TC works on the following areas:
(1) standard software tools and depository, including data, which can be used by CI professionals for developing modular, easy to use applications;
(2) benchmarks and competitions for testing and comparing various tools using standard data sets;
(3) development of standard terminology in CI to facilitate the proliferation of these technologies;
(4) educational standards in computational intelligence area.

Introduction of CI technologies at various levels of education is very important to the success of our field. An area of future work includes involving industrial researchers to the activities of the TC aiming to develop draft standards for basic elements of CI that are of interest to the industry, such as; i) fuzzy logic controllers; ii) neural classifiers; iii) fuzzy classifiers; iv) fuzzy rule-based systems; v) CI decision support systems, etc. Such standards should be developed and circulated for discussion and amendments before being accepted and promoted aiming increasing the use and trust by the main stream industry (telecommunications, automotive, petro-chemical; robotic and defense; homeland security etc.). The idea (discussed with the outgoing Chair, Prof. Robert Kozma and other colleagues) is to make standards on CI more widespread and popular to the community outside the academic (Universities-based researchers), including industry and wider public, something like the popular wifi IEEE 802.11 series of standards etc. viagra en ligne --Andreu 18:58, 20 January 2010 (UTC) mutuelle
